Consultant Gastroenterologist (Adolescents 16-18yrs)

I have been a consultant Gastroenterologist in Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust since 2016. I have considerable experience in treating 16-18-year-old patients for all gastroenterological conditions.

My Gastroenterology training was in Southwest London including spending considerable time in St George’s Hospital and the Liver Unit at King’s College Hospital. I have interests in liver diseases including fatty liver, viral hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and acid reflux.

I have been awarded an MD by the University of London for my research work in liver diseases (viral hepatitis).

I am JAG accredited GI endoscopist and perform procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.  I am an endoscopy trainer.  I am the lead clinician for the departmental audits. I am also a mentor in the British Society of Gastroenterology mentorship program. I have set up local Hepatology service including Fibroscan for assessment of liver disease. I am a member of the local research committee and am involved in a number of research studies.

I understand transitioning from Paediatric to Adult care can be daunting for young people and I am here to support their transition to the adult world.
